SPA BREAK - FIRST NIGHT AWAY FROM THE BABY

Our first night away from our baby as a couple and we spent it doing a no-kid-zone activity - a spa day

Spa

We visited the Malvern Spa in Worcestershire on their Signature Spa Break. At the Malvern Spa their focus in on wellbeing of the mind, body and soul. They have experienced and dedicated therapists and offer high quality food in their restaurant so it's an experience for all of the senses. Not only that they offer 33 comfortable bedrooms for you to stay in during your spa break.

Now, we will be honest, the outside does not fill you with too much confidence that this will be a luxurious and tranquil experience. The spa is located on a trading estate with an Aldi in view but look for the benefits there and pick up a delicious bottle of wine and some goodies for your night stay. Despite the exterior, once you step inside you are transported into tranquility and instantly feel at ease and ready to be pampered.

The Signature Spa Break includes a one-night stay, a 30-minute treatment each choosing from a back, neck and shoulder massage, manicure, pedicure, Elemis skin booster, Lime and Ginger body scrub or a Frangipani body scrub, £30 each towards dinner, complimentary access to the spa from 12pm on the day of arrival until 11am the following day and breakfast the following morning. It is the perfect escape and a great way to treat yourself and spend some quality time with a loved one.

We also opted to hire one of the private pods which are located next to the outdoor pool area. You will have a cosy pod all to yourself where you can have drinks delivered to the door and even connect up to the Bluetooth speaker with your phone to enjoy your own playlist. We visit the spa for our anniversary to listened to our evening wedding playlist which is wonderful (if we do say so ourselves).

We arrived and were welcomed with a complimentary glass of prosecco after explaining when we checked in that we were celebrating our anniversary. We were shown to our room and then got changed and headed down to the spa. We were shown to our private pod by the pool where we settled in with a cocktail. We enjoyed the spa facilities which include an indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy pool, crystal steam room, salt grotto, saunas and a foot spa. It was quickly time for our treatments. I opted for the back, neck and shoulder massage and James opted for a pedicure. The massage was incredible and I quickly built up a big rapport with my therapist learning about her life growing up in South Africa.

After more relaxation in the spa, it was time to head up to the room to get ready for dinner which we booked for 8pm. We had a drink in the bar area beforehand before enjoying a delicious meal in the stylish restaurant. The Grovewood is headed up by Chef Alex who offers a huge selection of meals from sharing boards to hearty pasta dishes and a variety of meat dishes. I chose the garlic chicken supreme and James chose the flat iron steak. The food was extremely tasty and beautifully presented.

We finished our delicious meal and headed back to our room to relax for the evening. The spa is open until 10pm however so you could use it during your stay right until the bitter end. We woke to a hearty breakfast with an array of cereals, toast and fresh pastries on offer then ordered a full english and vegetarian breakfast from the kitchen. We had one last trip to the spa with our full bellies before heading home.

It was the perfect way to spend our anniversary and we would recommend this spa to anyone. There are also other spa breaks on offer or spa days if you live close by. You can find all of the details on the website here.
