Our holiday time is precious and we want to maximise the little time we have away from work and our busy day to day lives.
I love spending hours researching and planning trips away. I find this builds my excitement for the upcoming holiday and passes the time during those dull and dreary nights whilst my partner and I are waiting for that summer/winter escape.
Although we all love a little spontaneity, organising your trip beforehand means that time isn’t wasted during your holiday trawling through the internet to find the perfect restaurant to go to or searching through the 150 page travel guide to find those ‘must-sees’.
But many people don’t have the time or patience to plan what to do in advance.
Take a Trip is designed to give you an insight into my holiday planning and provide you with day by day, easy to follow itineraries allowing you to make the most of your holiday.

Who am I?
I'm Sophie and I'm based in the North East of England where I was born and bred. I love wine, dogs and being outdoors.
My love for travel evolved in 2014 when I started working for a travel company and lived in Italy for two years and France for 6 months. My career came calling and after much deliberation and too-ing and fro-ing, I moved back to the UK in 2017 to start my career in the legal field.
I secured a job near the Lake District where I had the security of a full-time income but could spend my spare time surrounded by nature. After two years it was time to move from West to East and I bought my first house with my partner James in 2020. We got engaged and are getting married in Slovenia in August 2021.
I love writing about my travels and hope to inspire others to get out there and see this beautiful world we live in.
