Recommendations of where to eat in Bardolino, Lake Garda
You will be showered by beautiful Italian restaurants in Bardolino and all around Lake Garda but scanning through 10-20 menus and deciding which one to eat at can be tricky. Through sampling, working in the resort and researching here is what we recommended as the best restaurants in Bardolino:
Caprice
For the best pizza in Bardolino visit Caprice. You will be welcomed with a sparkling wine and a small sample plate to start and finish your meal with a limoncello. There is a huge variety of pizzas to choose from, the traditional all the way to extragravant flavours. You could eat here every night of your holiday and not get bored. The restaurant does get busy so ideally make a reservation but you could get a table on the same night if you are willing to perhaps wait and go for an apertif by the lake until your table is ready.
Biri
Biri sits adjecent to La Porta and share the same outdoor seating space so it is sometimes difficult to distinguish which is which. As you approach the restaurants Biri is on the left. Biri specialises in traditional Italian dishes and seafood. We would recommend a seafood pasta using fresh fish from the lake.
D'Annunzio Osteria Bistro
D'Annunzio is rated top on TripAdvisor and for good reason. The dishes are rich and well made using fresh ingredients. They also specialise in seafood and recommend the fresh fish platter to start which includes scallops, prawns and an array of other colourful seafood. For the main course you can choose from pasta, pizza, fish, meat or vegetarian mains. They came to have the best Tiramisu in Bardolino so don't miss out on this for dessert.
Cristallos
Cristallos is your go-to for ice cream in Bardolino. At a cheap and cheerful 2 euros, you can choose from over 20 flavours. Ideally you should be racking up 1-2 scoops a day (it's only right when visiting Italy). If you sit in the restaurant you can enjoy coffees, sandwiches, hot meals, ice cream shaped like spaghetti and the Italian spritz in a number of different flavours. The restaurant is situated on the lake front so you could quite easily while away the hours here sharing a bottle of Lake Gardas finest wine.
Bardolino is one (if not the) of our favourite towns on Lake Garda. It is perfectly situated between Garda and Lazise so you can enjoy picturesque promenade walks along the lake front on the daily. We stayed at Solho which was only a 3-4 minute walk from the centre. This hotel is modern and has a beautiful rooftop pool overlooking Bardolino town. The breakfast was also to die for. We would definitely recommend staying here during your trip.
