Massages, Mud Rasul treatment, Sauna, Steam room and Afternoon tea - a day of pure luxury in the Victorian spa town of Harrogate
The Harrogate Spa is located in the Doubletree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel. The spa offers a 12.5 metre indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym and an ice fountain. There are also six treatment rooms where you can choose from a number of ESPA and THALGO treatments as well as Jessica manicures and pedicures. We chose a deep muscle massage which was thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing.
The Harrogate Spa also offers a Mud Rasul Ritual. This is a self-administered treatment which you can enjoy with a partner, family or friends. You will relax in a private steam room and be provided with 3 different muds, one for the body, one for hair and one for your face. Apply the mud and then wait for the room to fill up with steam which allows the mud to work its magic and sink into your skin. After the steam, the warm showers will start and wash away the mud leaving your skin feeling exfoliated, refreshed and silky smooth.
Head back into the spa and spend your afternoon relaxing poolside, swimming and pampering yourself. Once you’ve built up an appetite, pop your robe on and head out of the pool area to the nearby sofas. Here you can choose to have a lunch or afternoon tea. We opted for afternoon tea and demolished sandwiches, warm fruit scones and delicious cakes washed down with Taylor’s of Harrogate or Yorkshire Tea. You can also upgrade to include a glass of fizz which is perfect for a birthday or celebration.
